Meet Rick

Rick Stokes epitomizes the spirit of dedication and servant leadership, with a diverse background that spans continents and industries. Passionate about serving his community, Rick brings a unique blend of experiences and values to the table. As a Christian, conservative, and Air Force veteran, he understands the importance of service, integrity, and dedication to our nation and its people. 

Born in Fresno, CA, Rick's journey has been marked by a relentless pursuit of excellence and a deep-seated commitment to his community in Peoria, AZ.

Rick's journey into public service began during his tenure in the United States Air Force, where he served as a Telecom Engineer from 1986 to 1995. His service took him across the globe, from Tokyo to Davis-Monthan in Tucson, AZ, where he played a pivotal role in establishing cutting-edge network infrastructure.

Transitioning to civilian life in 1995, Rick embarked on a new chapter as a network engineer with a prominent Global Market Research company. His leadership and expertise led him to assume the role of IT Manager for the Phoenix office, where he navigated complex technological landscapes with precision and foresight.

In 2007, amidst economic turmoil, Rick pivoted once again, venturing into the realms of insurance and estate planning. His dedication to serving families across New Mexico, Nevada, and Arizona underscored his unwavering commitment to making a positive impact on people's lives.

Driven by a passion for entrepreneurship and innovation, Rick co-founded his own IT consulting firm, embodying the entrepreneurial spirit that defines Peoria's vibrant business community. Through ups and downs, Rick's steadfast determination remained a guiding force, culminating in his sole ownership of the company in 2017.

Beyond his professional pursuits, Rick finds fulfillment in his 27 year marriage to his wife Hollie, their cherished companions Jasper and Sophie, and his passions for cycling, literature, and triathlons. Rick is an accomplished jazz saxophone player, serving in several orchestras including Arizona Winds Orchestra and the Forever Young Big Band. 

Rick's decision to enter politics stems from a deep-seated desire to give back to the city that has given him so much. He has learned a lot from, and is endorsed by the current Ironwood Councilmember, Bill Patena and believes in the importance of responding to constituents' concerns and helping to solve problems facing the community. Rick has always recognized that the city should be a resource for people who need help or assistance, and he desires to work with the community to keep neighborhoods safe and well-maintained.

His vision for Peoria is one of prosperity and opportunity, grounded in economic development and job creation. Inspired by the Mayor's initiatives, Rick is committed to attracting manufacturing opportunities and fostering an environment where businesses can thrive.
